Designing a new peace and stabilisation programme in Iraq and Syria

FCP has worked with Tana Copenhagen to design the new Danish Government-funded Syria-Iraq pace and stabilisation programme. The task included a desk-based literature review, field missions to the region, conflict and political economy analysis, developing the theory of change and drafting the programme document and 15 specific project agreements worth approximately £68 million.

The programme has several key components including responding to the violent extremist challenge; improving the delivery and accountability of security and justice; enhancing the resilience of communities to help them cope with violence and instability; and supporting local peacebuilding and governance initiatives to help transition from short-term crisis response towards a more stable and peaceful future.
